Curious

I'm curious--do any of you have a 5 or 10 year plan? If you do, what kinds of things does it include?

No. I thought I did, but life interupts. Now I have some very broad goals, but they are always prefaced with "maybe"/"if that works out" etc. For the record, I think I'm much happier with where the unexpected turns took me (Denver!) than where my plan would've taken me (another 5-6 years of school).

I definitely don't have a five year plan. I don't even have a five month plan. It seems like there are a lot of things that I would want to include in my plan that are totally out of my control...I wonder how people do it??

No, and I would agree with Joel that "life interupts." I do find it important, however, to figure out if what I'm doing in the moment seems as if it is the right place for me to be. I think it's important to know how who you want to be fits into the things you do day by day. So, for example, if I didn't have an outlet and use for my keyboard abilities at church now, I'd be trying to put together a plan that allowed me to exercise or use those gifts. If that makes sense.

Short term and long term goals. long term: Go back to, and finish, University. Learn yoga, and how to play an instrument/read sheet music.
short term(five years): Run my first marathon.

Life does interrupt but that interruption doesn't have to be a permanent break it can be a speed bump.
