Yesterday I felt horrible with the flu. I didn't want to miss the ballet though, so I still went to the Nutcracker and today I feel all better. It's a Christmas miracle!

Strangely enough, there was no Sugar Plum Fairy, but there was a Tsar and Tsarina. They went back to the original, politically-charged story, concubines, slaves, and all. I actually had no idea that the original didn't include candy and dolls.
So maybe it was the tsarina who made me feel better! :)

I didn't either. Actually, it was a little disheartening after seeing the Nutcracker the other way for 27 years. Especially the concubines, slaves, and harem.
