Not that Simpsons' knowledge isn't serious, but...
Something I'm thinking about: How do you reconcile knowing you're a totally depraved being with knowing your worth as a child of God? Does the New Testament (is that capitalized) make it so that we can stop focusing on our sin? I would love to hear what other people think about this.

This is very similar to why I have the tattoos that I do.
Some theologians spend their entire careers wrestling with that question. Frankly, it's more baffeling to me than the concept of the trinity.
My brief statement: err on the side of grace. Don't worry about sin.
That may be heresy.
I think that there are different phases of focus as we move through life. There are times when we err on the side of too much attention to depravity, which leads to insecurity, self-loathing, pessimism, etc. And then there are times when we really do need to address our selfishness and work to right some wrongs. I've found that, in my own life, I have been better able to address my sinfulness at certain points, and sometimes I've needed to relax and just enjoy God's love...the trick is figuring out how to maintain some sort of balance, I guess.
